Standard Operating Procedures

Over the past 20 months or so, industry wide Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality assurance management for the timber treatment industry have been under development under the auspices of the Department of Building and Housing.
The SOPs are now close to finalisation and the next steps are for them to be trialled by timber treaters for a period to test their practicality and to identify any issues. We expect the trials to commence in October 2010.
As far as TPC licensees are concerned, we will be ensuring that our samplers are fully up to speed with the requirements of the SOPs (which are not in fact too different from the TPC Timber Preservation Quality Manual) and are able to provide advice and guidance where necessary.
